Ludwigshafen University of Applied Sciences location
Participation of the Health Research Network
The New Work subproject is located at the HWG Ludwigshafen site. This includes both the pilot projects in the Innovation Lab and the pilot projects in the Competence Center.
The Health Research Network is involved in the pilot projects at the Competence Center. We are involved in the development of a New Work analysis tool that will subsequently also be used in model companies in the care sector. The final goal is the development of a toolbox that ensures low-threshold access to New Work instruments for practical use.
Pilot projects in the competence center
Development of a New Work analysis tool
"The New Work analysis tools are being developed under the direction of Prof. Dr. Jutta Rump, Andrea Kuhn, Prof. Dr. Rainer Völker (all HWG Ludwigshafen), Prof. Dr. Susanne Rank, Prof. Dr. Katharina Dahm (both HS Mainz), Prof. Dr. Stephan Kurpjuweit (HS Worms) in cooperation with, among others, apetito, Zahnen Technik, Westpfalz Klinikum and ctt Reha Fachkliniken. The goal is to develop a low-threshold, practice-oriented IT tool that enables companies and individuals to determine their level of maturity with regard to New Work in the form of a self-assessment. To ensure that this tool is highly practice-oriented, a large-scale quantitative survey will first be conducted, the results of which will be incorporated into the development. After exploring the topic, a statistical analysis (conjoint) is used to ask respondents to choose the optimal workplace design for their work situation in each case. On the basis of the individual preference results, clusters for the future ideal-type workplace can then be identified from the employee's and/or employer's point of view, depending on the sector, company size or company organization. Particular attention will be paid to care institutions and their sponsors, for which a specific form of the tool will be derived. After the end of the project, the tool will be made freely available online to all interested companies, organizations and individuals. For this purpose, functionalities will be developed that enable companies to use the tool independently, e.g. by using an intelligent digital assistant. Furthermore, the tool will be available to the largest possible group of user:s across platforms through a cross-platform approach. The tool will be designed in such a way that it can be easily adapted for other application areas. In addition, sustainable human resource management (HRM) is analyzed separately as one of the central pillars of New Work. In order to increase the social and environmental contribution of the company, an analysis survey tool is developed for the sustainable HRM concept that refers to the organizational vs. employee:internal level of corporate social responsibility." empower.ztt.hs-worms.de/projekte/
New Work in 6 - 8 model companies
Analysis of New Work also in nursing
"The New Work analysis tools are used in the work with 6 - 8 model companies; this results in continuous evaluation and adaptation to existing needs. The project team consisting of Prof. Dr. Jutta Rump, Dr. Andrea Kuhn (both HWG Ludwigshafen), Prof. Dr. Susanne Rank and Prof. Dr. Katharina Dahm (both HS Mainz) will implement this operational work in collaboration with the ZQ. At least one of the model companies is a care facility or a provider. A catalog of labor law options for assuming social and ecological responsibility is also applied. Preference is given to SMEs, which often lack the in-house capacity to initiate corresponding activities in the spirit of New Work. On the basis of the knowledge gained, concrete measures are to be derived and the implementation of these measures in the companies - as far as possible during the project period - is to be accompanied and evaluated." empower.ztt.hs-worms.de/projekte/
New Work Toolbox
Find and use suitable tools
"In view of the many different ideas of New Work, it seems necessary to ensure the availability of all the knowledge gained and products developed in the project context on the subject of New Work for a large number of different stakeholders from business, science and society using a database solution. This is being developed by Prof. Dr. Jutta Rump (HWG Ludwigshafen) and Prof. Dr. Stephan Kurpjuweit (HS Worms) on the basis of the findings from the model companies. Such a New Work Toolbox offers the opportunity to address employees, employers, managers, employee representatives, educators, etc. in a very structured way and to present them with the wealth of available materials in a way that is easy to understand and adapted to their specific needs. Information overload is prevented by using filter functions to first select one's own perspective, then the desired topic focus and finally the type of material required, which can then be individually compiled into a complete package - similar to an online store - and downloaded free of charge. Further development into an online course format and learning sequences that build on each other is planned." empower.ztt.hs-worms.de/projekte/
