Care ethics. Decorative accessory or VALUABLE necessity?
Time: Monday, June 13, 2022; 3:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Location: Catholic Academy DIE WOLFSBURG; Falkenweg 6; 45478 Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany.
Care, attention, preservation of dignity and autonomy let nursing take an important role for sick and old people. But what role does nursing play in ethical discourse? Medical ethics, for example, has become increasingly important in recent years. But doesn't the special role of nursing require its own professional ethics to complement medical ethics or an orientation guide for reflected and value-oriented nursing action? What is the special feature of nursing ethics?
What is its relationship to medical ethics? What role does nursing ethics play in the everyday life of a hospital, a nursing facility or home care? What social significance can it assume after the experience of the Corona pandemic? And is it no more than a mere professional ethic?
