With the Institute for Employment and Employability IBE, the Ludwigshafen University of Applied Sciences establishes New Work as a transfer focus in the federal-state initiative "Innovative University".

The Health Research Network is a partner

For the second round of the federal-state funding initiative "Innovative Hochschule", the joint project "EMPOWER - Living Cooperation and Shaping Innovation" was among the projects selected for funding. The project, which is geared in particular to supporting transformation processes in the Rheinhessen / Vorderpfalz region and the best possible networking of the competencies of the participating universities, was launched in January 2023.

The focus is on the five megatrend topics of New Work (Ludwigshafen University of Applied Sciences), Connectivity (Mainz University of Applied Sciences), Health (Mainz Catholic University of Applied Sciences), Sustainability (Bingen University of Applied Sciences) and Cyber Security (Worms University of Applied Sciences) and their interfaces. There is also close cooperation with the Center for Quality Development and Assurance at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz.

Under the leadership of the Institute for Employment and Employability IBE, headed by Prof. Dr. Jutta Rump, transfer formats on a wide range of New Work issues are being developed and implemented as part of the project at the Ludwigshafen University of Applied Sciences - from the digital, economic and ecological transformation to the flexibilization of working hours and location, new spatial concepts and agile forms of organization to changed management structures and principles and, last but not least, the promotion of lifelong employability. The transfer formats contribute on several levels to establishing New Work in business and society. Individuals such as students, employees and managers are supported in developing competencies in dealing with New Work. Employers receive guidance in developing and implementing New Work strategies and concrete measures. New Work activities in the context of the inter-company economic structure to secure the competitiveness of the location are initiated and social and economic framework conditions for the implementation of New Work are developed.
